Radosław Kossakowski, Associate Professor in Sociology, Director of Institute of Sociology at Gdańsk University, Chair of the Scientific Council of Sociology at the University of Gdańsk. He is active member of several scientific bodies and associations: European Sociology of Sport Association, International Sociology of Sport Association, Football Collective Group. A longstanding member of Polish Sociological Association where he initiated section of sociology of sport. He is vice-chair of this section.
As first representative of Central-Eastern European countries, he was the prize-winner of UEFA Research Grant Programme. He was also winner of the 1st Prize in the annual competition for the best book in social sciences awarded the by ‘Culture and Education Journal’.
He participated actively in scientific meetings and conferences both domestic and international. In 2017, he was selected by Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education as a member of committee for evaluation in social sciences area.
His articles have been published in many well-recognized journals: Sport in Society, Sociology of Sport Journal, International Review for the Sociology of Sport, East European Politics and Societies, Revista de Psicología del Deporte. Soccer & Society, Problems of Post-Communism. His books have been published by the best publishing house: Routledge, Manchester Univeristy Press, Palgrave.
